"Follicular Adjustment"

Who else has noticed that so many buildings have dull interior coloring? All beiges and light blues. Maybe an off-white over here. I suppose it's calming, color psychology and all that, but it makes it hard to have a convincing establishing background. If only interior designers thought of the comics that would be drawn about their spaces. Only then… Well, maybe. That was an odd line of thought.

Not very compelling, I know, but it's mostly an observation. Mostly of the fact that two and a half inches is much more than I thought, but also of the the fact that I am unused to chatty hairstylists. I tend to have the stoic types, who seem to speak only through tilting my head subtly when needed. It's been an easy dynamic to work with. When I lived in Tennessee all I needed to say to them was a number and I'd be good. Still, my lack of flowing locks aside, peoples' reactions have totally been worth it.

I've been thinking of getting my hair cut. Mine's really long (like past my shoulder blades).

I rarely got my hair cut by a professional before I started growing it out. Then the one time I got it fixed up, I got a super chatty stylist. It also turned out she works with my mom. o-o

I've only ever had it to the end of the neck myself. I like it "floofy." As to the stylist, that would certainly give her plenty to talk about.

She said that stylists follow the same regulation that nurses (my mom and the stylist work together at the hospital) follow and that she can't disclose patient information to 3rd parties. Hair cuts are kind of like surgery.

Not a simile I'd heard before.

Well, surgery is an operation on the body that involves cutting, right?

What part of Tennessee? I lived in Manchester for a while (halfway between nashville and chattanooga, bonnaroo, anybody??).

I hear you about the awkward hair-stylist conversations. My husband's mother is a hair-stylist. Take that as you will .

Well, I lived in one of your landmarks there. Specifically I lived in Chattanooga, in the valley. Also, hm… Not sure how to react to that. Sympathy maybe.
