So, I'd been having trouble with my laptop for a few months, but in these last few weeks it had gotten really bad. Where before I'd only have the occasional stall and necessary force quit, it got to the point where even doing the slightest thing would send my machine pinwheeling away. So I hesitantly backed up as much as I could, nervously trying not to upset whatever mojo was working in my favor at the moment, and then I wiped the hard drive. I did a reinstall from my OS disk, and began to slowly move things back into their proper places.
For a few days it seemed like the hard drive wipe may have done the trick. Then, the problems emerged
again. So, after some extensive troubleshooting with my more technologically literate companions, and a call to Apple Support, the conclusion was that it was probably something wrong with the hard drive, and the only thing to do was have it replaced. This meant backing up, taking it in for repair, and beginning once more from a clean slate. It also means I have to migrate and reinstall everything yet again. I swear if the issues reemerge after all of this, I may have to cry.
So, yeah. That's kind of why the comic's been late. I've been trying to do only necessary work rather than upset my feeble machine, but hopefully the refurbished laptop will be a bit more robust. Sorry for the continued delays.
